What a great way to start off the 2015! I was interviewed for a wonderful blog called Coffee With A Canine, which profiles really interesting people who love coffee and their furry companions. I struggled to get decent photos of my dogs, because they’re lawless and camera shy (hmmm…come to think of it, so are the humans in my house). Pop by the interview and get all the juicy details about my exotic life.
It’s a cooooold morning in the Findlay Shack! The furnace chugged along for over two hours before my feet started to thaw out. I’m waiting for the day that our probably-over-30-year-old furnace bites the biscuit. Given the fact that we are replacing one of our antiquity-era gas fireplaces (Who knew they cost so freaking much?), you’ve got to know that the furnace is going to have a fatal aneurism. The minute you invest in one area, another huge money pit opens up.

Okay…I just have to say, this is the BEST liquid, I have ever put in my mouth!!!!! It’s a lavender latte made by Madina Cafe in Vancouver. I will dream about this cup of coffee ’til the day I die. I know. A bit over the top, but well worth the praise. I’ve eaten many times at this amazing Belgian restaurant, but I’ve never had a coffee beverage here before. I’ll never visit Vancouver without seeking out one of these drinks forever more.
If you love coffee, like I do (ergo the blog name), you’re gonna want the organic coffee I found at Vancouver’s Latin Organics. Just so you know, I’m not getting paid any type of compensation for talking about this coffee, I’m just in good-old-fashioned love with it.
It’s not just another-pretty-face coffee! The flavor is incredible; it’s BC certified organic; the company does direct trade with Colombian farmers; their family roots are Colombian; AND they work with farmers who are at greatest risk of losing their livelihood and ancestral traditions. What’s not to love?
I ground some fresh beans this morning, and I’m sitting here sipping an awesome cuppa jo! If you want some of this delightful black gold, you’ll need to visit one of their vendors in BC. They’re currently working on a website so they can sell it online. There are even opportunities to sell it yourself if you have a store.
Happy Day 🙂
