joy in the little moments…

Butterfly Beach, Santa Barbara, California

I love being 51 years old. I know it sounds crazy, but I’m convinced I’m getting younger. At this point in my life, I really focus on experiencing true joy. I’m definitely not sweating the small stuff any more, and the beautiful little moments in life mean so much to me. This sounds so “new age”, but I can’t help it. I’m a believer in shifting my paradigm and finding joy everywhere I look 🙂

seaside bliss…

Hello friends…

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, but I’m back at it. This shot was taken during our family’s vacation in Santa Barbara at the beginning of September (2015). Such an amazing area, with potential shots every direction I looked in. The light in California is gorgeous for photography, and I was in heaven. I think it’s where I want to be forever 😉

brave the wave…

On my way home from Seattle, Washington today,  I spotted this brave soul out in the waves at White Rock Beach. Although it’s not anything I’m even remotely interested in doing, I admire a person who puts down their electronic devices and heads for some real living on the waves. It’s something I need to do more often.

count your blessings…

We were all surprised by how frigid Crescent Beach was this afternoon. My teeth were chattering and my fingers were numb when I fumbled around with the camera (shocked anything was in focus). Considering the 6 feet of snow the folks in Buffalo are shovelling out from under, I can hardly complain…oh yes I can.

breathing space…

How can you tell I’ve been spending time at White Rock Beach lately? I promise. When the sun shows itself, I’ll get photos of all the trees that are starting to bloom and the crocuses that are poking up through the dirt. I’m crossing my fingers that the rest of Spring Break will bring loads of sunshine!!!! I’m crossing my eyes and toes too.

beat it, seagull…

Project 365 Photos: #77

As much as I admire the wily street smarts of the cunning crow, I can’t say the same for the seagull–nature’s version of a wedding crasher. You suck, seagull. You’re an unabashed fish & chips thief!!!!!

You may have noticed that I’ve been annoyingly posting more than once a day. I beg your forgiveness. It’s not my intention to bog down your blog readers. I’m playing catch-up, ’cause I’m only at #77 and I started before New Year’s Day (over 100 days ago…can you believe it). Sort of reminds me of my days of skipping class at university (shhhhhh…don’t tell my teenagers I said that).
