What can I say? I’m a sucker for Christmas. I spotted this sweet little nest tucked into a white Christmas tree at my favourite home decor boutique, Romancing the Home. Shhhhhhhh…don’t tell my husband that I was shopping in a home decor boutique! I used to have an online home decor boutique and I kept more stuff than I sold, so my house is bursting at the seams with DECOR!!!!

spring show-off…
Project 365 Photos: #53
Whenever I complain about the crummy weather in the Pacific Northwest, the universe kinda kicks my behind! Inevitably, something reminds me how lucky I am to live here. Look at this glorious cluster of blossoms. How can you help but love a place that produces this kind of spectacular spring show-off?
Christmas bling…
Time for Christmas decorating. The Christmas carols are cranked up, and first up is my fireplace mantel. I’m thinking flickering candlelight with Christmas tree lights reflecting off crystal and silver ornaments. In the words of the uber-stylish Martha Stewart…it’s a good thing!!!! Next up…the beloved fresh Christmas tree this weekend. Yay!
lulie wallace love…
Lulie Wallace is my latest art crush! I discovered her paintings on the pages of House of Fifty‘s summer issue. There’s just something about the colors, the whimsical stylized florals, and the backgrounds that really speak to me. I’d love to see her paintings in person. Maybe I’ll get to Charleston, South Carolina one of these happy days.
ravishing radish…
Such a proud moment. The first harvest of the 2012 veggie season. It went “crunch” right after this shot. Scrumptious!
honeysuckle heaven…
It’s a drizzly grey morning here on the Wet Coast of BC. and I was so drowsy that I took a sloshing cup of coffee in the car with me while I dropped the kids at school. When I got back home, I was muttering to myself about the dreary weather as I snuck toward the back of my house (I was wearing my pink pajama bottoms under my coat and didn’t want ANYONE to see me…that’s the way I roll). As I walked through the garden gate, an amazing thing happened. A blanket of the most exquisite perfume enveloped me and made me stop in my tracks. Now I don’t know if it’s the rain that intensified the smell, but my honeysuckle vine’s scent was absolutely heavenly, and I stood there for a couple of minutes just drinking in the pure pleasure of that experience. Thank you, rain!!!!
Scout about it…
I’m a huge fan of Birch & Bird and the vintage handmade markets they hold every few months. My gal pals, Kim & Ann, joined me for the preview event for Scout Market last night in Abbotsford, BC. It was a love fest for all things vintage and fabulous. We nibbled on delicious cheese and cupcakes, sipped lovely wine and coveted EVERYTHING we saw. The market is running all day today. If you get a chance to drop in, I’d highly recommend it!
