i love me some crow…

Project 365 Photos: #76

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you might notice that I like crows. They’ve got personality, and they’re rife with symbolism. Now if only I could get them to stop spying on me from my neighbour’s roof and swooping in for my bird feeders the minute they think I’m not in the kitchen. They won’t get the best of me, though. I’ve got a crack team of four-legged furry crow snipers, who I trained to fly out the back door and on to the lawn at the mere whisper, “Go get ’em.”

misty monday morning…

White Rock beach on a cold April morning. I never get tired of this magical place–it’s just good for the soul. Do you have a special place that makes you happy and brings you peace?

making up for lost time…

Project 365 Photos: #70

I got a little sidetracked by the good weather and school Spring Break last week, so I have to make up for the photos I didn’t post. Otherwise, I’ll never make it to 365 in time for the New Year!!! Bear with me, folks.

This is the lone tulip that is about to burst open in my garden. Kind of pathetic standing all alone.

cherry extravaganza…

Project 365 Photos: #69

These glorious old trees line both sides of the street around the corner from my home. I love to pause as I walk across the street to get the full effect of this cherry extravaganza (they’re probably plum trees and I’m getting it completely wrong)! We’ve been lucky this year because it hasn’t been raining, and the blossoms get a chance to absolutely show off. How lucky am I?!

crocus love…

I can’t resist these sturdy little harbingers of spring. They’re the perfect little flowers, standing straight and proud, even in the frigid temperatures. I defy you to pass a crocus without smiling đŸ™‚

heaven tree…

heaven tree

In the words of the Friendly Giant (all you Canadian kids will get that reference), “Look up. Waaaaaaaay up.” This tree is so beautiful. It looks like it keeps going right up to heaven. I really missed having my little babies with me when I found it today. I would have told them a fairytale about nimble little faeries, who use the tree to climb to heaven. But my babies are teenagers now, and not so trusting since they found out about Santa a few years ago. Even though they pretend like they don’t care, they love reminiscing about all the forest walks we used to take, and all the stories I would make up for them.

car swag…

How is your Sunday going? Mine is filled with studying grade eight Pythagorean theorum (blech) and rain. Could be worse…not really. We took a short breather and I discovered this cheerful swag on my car! There’s always a little glimmer of happy in every day…somewhere…if you look really, really, really hard for it. Did I mention math sucks?! Did I also mention that you can’t let your grade eighter know that?!
