sunshine yellow…

Ever since Nyla Free sent me a teaser of the design she’s cooking up for my living room, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the color yellow.

It could also have something to do with the fact that it just can’t stop raining in the Pacific Northwest, and I’m craving a little sunshine…correction…a truck-load of sunshine. So consider this my sundance…’cause I’m just not willing to go out and dance on my front lawn in the rain!!!

Don’t you just love that painting by Bobbi Burgers? She’s one of my FAVE artists.

playhouse do-over…

Have you ever wanted a childhood do-over?

As a child, I spent much of my time dreaming in my playhouse, and I would love to recapture that feeling of pure freedom. Only this time, I’d do it up in GRAND style!!! (I shouldn’t complain ’cause my dad built me a really amazing playhouse on stilts with windows, a shake shingled roof, and a grand staircase leading to the front door.)

There would be some serious whitewashing and it would be completely over-the-top frilly and girlie–a sight to behold, let me tell ya! My guest roster would extremely selective…only friends bearing lavish gifts and bottles of wine! Gossip would not only be encouraged, but expected!

wood it work?…

Yes it wood. These gorgeous reclaimed wood panels by B&N Industries are soooo cool. They would definitely inject style in a front entry! I came across them on House Beautiful’s twitter post and just had to let you know about them.

online 3D decorating…

I just came across this very cool online interior decorating website–Decorate It Online. I live on my computer (which explains why I stared Nicole Jane Home), so I love the idea of being able to consult with a decorator online anytime I want.

They have varying levels of service and provide decorating advice and shopping lists. At a higher level, you can even get 3D pictures of the rooms you want to decorate. What a great idea!

Gotta love Before & After shots!!!

cabin in the woods…

I just came across this sweet brown cabin in the woods on Country Living Magazine‘s website. The fresh decor appeals to me, and I can just imagine waking up on summer mornings, sitting with a cup of coffee looking out over a peaceful lake, listening to the loons calling each other, and watching a shirtless Johnny Depp chop wood for our fireplace!

You’ll want to read right to the bottom ’cause there’s a surprise about this cabin.

Surprise…this home was built entirely from a kit for $45,000. Not bad, eh?
