sparkling hill resort…

I recently visited the new Sparkling Hill Resort just south of Vernon in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. Let me just say…WOWSA!!! You want Swarovski crystals…they’ve got ’em by the bucket loads!! It was developed by one of the Swarovski family members, and it’s an amazing showcase of crystals. Even the dazzling front entryway is designed in the shape of a crystal.

I didn’t get a chance to see any of the guest rooms, but I have it on very good authority that they are gorgeous. I believe the exact words my girlfriend said were, “…nicest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in.”

There are crystals everywhere! They’re even embedded in the walls lining the driveway, the staircase handrails and the signs for the washrooms.

The view overlooking Lake Okanagan is absolutely stunning. There are lots of siting areas and gathering spots where you can enjoy it. If you’re a golfer, it’s just up the hill from Predator Ridge Golf Club.

The spa looked stunning. Their website lists all the amazing spa treatments you can get (I love the sound of the circulation circuit pools my Aunt Jacquie used when she stayed at the resort).

Of course, the crystal chandeliers are spectacular throughout, but this was one of my favorites!

What do you think the chances are that Mark will organize a romantic getaway for just the two of us? You’re right! I’m going to book it myself!!!!

Oh, by the way, I’m in no way being paid by Sparkling Hill to promote them…but hey, I’m certainly not above taking a free night or seven…just sayin’!!!

  1. WOWSA is right!! What a stunning hotel. The view from the room you posted is stunning!

I was at a Swarovski lighting information session recently, and saw those round chadeliers in person. GORGEOUS!!! Like a great big huge diamond ring!! And the embedded crystals are so sparkly.

Yes, you SHOULD book a trip to the Sparkling Hill Resort for you and hubby 🙂

  2. My SiL and her partner stayed at Sparkling Hill for night – it was off season (quiet) and the weather was cold (something about a hot tub outside), but they loved ever moment!! She said their room was gorgeous! This summer, when we were visiting inlaws in Kelowna, we took a trip up to see what the place looked like – after all, we’d heard wonderful things! We only toured around the lobby, went to the bathroom (I saw the crystal Ladie’s Room icon/sign too! WOW!) and to a downstairs lounge for a drink… but the views were wonderful and the hotel was sparklingly stunning!!

  3. Okay, not to be a kill-joy but once you’ve visited the Swarovski museum in Austria, this place is a big disappointment. Especially after all the hype. Plus, I didn’t find it all that fabulous or gorgeous, although the view is. Again, after staying in some gorgeous hotels in Europe, this just didn’t live up to the buzz. Dining room was boring; cafe was slow on service but spa prices were very reasonable though…similar to Casbah’s.

    • You do have impecable taste, De! Apparently I need to see some of those fabulous European hotels!! I wonder if Mark will surprise me for Christmas with a little jaunt over the pond–Nah!
