intriguing designs…

Who wouldn’t have fun swinging in this fabulous chair? It’s featured in one of the projects by interior design firm, Erin Martin Designs.

This room reminds me of my bedroom when I was a child. We had an old farmhouse and my  attic bedroom was all cozy window dorms. It was a great room to plan for my certain destiny as a movie star! I listened to a lot of Barbara Streisand in that room.

This upholstered headboard really caught my eye.

  1. While the chair swing looks interesting I don’t know how comfortable it would be. Comfort is key with me.
I do however love the two beds. they look cozy.

  2. If that first bedroom was mine….I would probably never get out of bed….I’d read all day long in that beautiful light and nap like a kitten in the sun. with that blue necklace on of course!!!

  3. The chair is cool looking, but I don’t know that it would be all that comfortable. Not that it being uncomfortable would stop me from swinging in it like a four-year-old. Just hope it’s really, really secured into the ceiling.

The cover on the first bed is subtle and pretty, but I’d be afraid of whacking my head on the walls (rafters?).
The second one is better – I especially like the headboard. It’s simple, elegant, and totally something anyone could DIY – just pick up an old headbaoard at a second-hand furniture store, padding, some good fabric, and a staple gun. We’ve done it many, many times.

    • Hi Kara…I would have to make sure there was one REALLY big support beam overhead before I’d go near the swing chair. But it would be my kids who could bring it crashing down in a puddle of plaster to the floor even from a steel girder!
